SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA

Founded in 1808 by King Vittorio Emanuele I and named after his wife Maria Teresa of Austria, Santa Teresa is one of the most famous seaside resorts in North Sardinia. 

The sea is the undisputed protagonist of Santa Teresa Gallura, a village of about five thousand inhabitants, which multiply in summer with the arrival of tens of thousands of tourists, who enliven it with aperitifs in trendy places and live music. 

The urban center follows the sinuous course of two bays: to the east lies Porto Longone, the tourist port of Santa Teresa, which plays a very important role for transport: in addition to ensuring a daily connection to and from Corsica, is one of the main starting points for ferries to the archipelago of La Maddalena; to the west is located the bay of Rena Bianca, an expanse of fine sand with dazzling colors, a few steps from the main square of the country. Its limpid waters bewitch with a thousand shades, several times awarded with the 'Blue Flag'. The village is controlled from above by the suggestive tower of Longosardo.
For those who want a good compromise between nature and comfort another ideal beach is La Marmorata, a beautiful white sandy beach equipped with all services. It is divided into a private area for the exclusive use of a residence and one open to all. 

For lovers of snorkelling and scuba diving we recommend Baia Santa Reparata, a beach enclosed by high cliffs and bathed by a very clear sea. It is located just 3 km from the city center. 

Continuing in western direction, you meet the promontory of Capo Testa, a peninsula connected to the town by a thin strip of land on which stands a striking lighthouse. 

On the two sides of this isthmus there are Rena di Ponente and Rena di Levante, two beaches immersed in the green of the Mediterranean vegetation. Due to their particular position they allow you to enjoy the calm sea in every day, you will only have the foresight to choose the beach depending on where the wind blows. 

Other beaches not to be missed in Santa Teresa di Gallura and surroundings are Rena Majore, Conca Verde, Porto Quadro, La Liccia and Cala Spinosa.
